Prescott Community Supports College Rodeo

“Preserving Western heritage through collegiate rodeo” has been a National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA) theme for 50 years, and with the help of NIRA Commissioner Jim Dewey Brown, the Grand Canyon Regional Finale (GCRF) for college rodeo was welcomed at the Prescott Rodeo Grounds as a solid success. GCRF co-leads Katie Ramos and Summer Logan report that there were 2300 tickets sold, 165 college contestants competing, and roughly 75 volunteers from all Prescott Frontier Days® (PFD) departments who helped out at the inaugural event.
